"Waiting" (2024) is a series of nine mixed media works on paper exploring the notion of waiting: What are we waiting for, and how do we wait? First drawn from live models then rendered in the studio, the portraits are composed of Lyon’s journals, graphite, charcoal, Sharpie and ink jet copies of a pastel drawing. Ultimately, if we’re waiting on external circumstances to change, we might wait forever. If we are fully present, the wait is over.
